  • Curriculum Design --- Multiple Learning

Besides the basic curriculum for general senior high schools, we provide with unprecedented learning styles to add to diversity and dynamism.

1. AP Program

The so-called “AP Program” is an “Advanced Placement Program,” which gives students with excellent academic performance an opportunity to take university freshman’s courses in advance. Succeeding in completing the university courses, these students may get approved credits and certificates of credit exemption.

2. Math-Science Experimental Class

To develop students’ potentials and expand our curriculum advantages, we plan the math-science class by combining abundant teaching resources from NTU, NCCU, NTNU, and Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan to enhance our programs. We hope to cultivate future science researcher and add to students’ international competitiveness.

3. International Exchange Program

Our school sets into action the international exchange program actively with a view to giving the students opportunities to go abroad in person to broaden their horizons.

4. Second Foreign Language Courses

We provide German, French, Spanish, and Japanese language courses to develop students’ interest in learning multi-cultures and broad their horizons.

5. Language Corner

We arrange foreign students from ChengChi University to chat and interact with our students so that they may learn English in daily life situations.

  • The Vision of Our Curriculum Design

The curriculum of our school is designed based on the school rationale. It uses the present"Senior High School Curriculum Standards," "General Senior High School Curriculum Guidelines" (which is going to be implemented in 2006), and "Grade 1-9 Curriculum Guidelines" of the Ministry of Education(MOE)as the framework of our curriculum. The excellent curriculum designs by the other high schools are also taken as references. Besides, we also consult the professionals, experts, and some principals and chiefs in other senior high schools, and follow the five directions of "education modernization"mentioned by the Educational Reform Committee–humanization, democratization, pluralization, technologization, and internationalization to construct the features of our curriculum.

  1. Humanization: We would like to develop "whole person" education to help our students develop the sound thoughts, temperament, knowledge and abilities, and to make it possible for them to fully develop their potentials and realize themselves.
  2. Democratization: We would like to help our students to develop the abilities, characteristics and values to judge things independently, to care, to tolerate, to respect, to abide the laws, and to take the social responsibilities.
  3. Pluralization: We provide multiple choices on education in order to suit different talents and aptitudes of different students. Emphasizing on the application of Multiple Intelligence (MI), we would encourage our students search for excellence based on their intelligence(s).
  4. Technologization: We would popularize the scientific spirit, enhance the information literacy education and the training on thinking for our students, and help them to develop various key competences and the abilities to solve problems.
  5. Internationalization: We regard the content of internationalization as the understanding, appreciation, and respect for different cultures. The process of education for internationalization should be from "localization" to "internationalization," and should include both the development of students’ love for their hometown and their international vision. The reason is that, only when one loves and appreciates his/her own culture, can one face the trend of internationalization with a mature attitude.
